Dear visitors to Gessnerallee, dear artists

After two wonderful, dreamy, sunny weeks, we are now looking forward to a packed and exciting programme in May at the Gessnerallee.

An intense weekend awaits you as early as next week, kicking off on Wednesday 6 May with the latest edition of the monthly themes: ‘Alpha Boys – Research from the Manosphere’ by SRF Investigativ and SRF Data. On the same evening, you can see the choreographic work ‘PERCEPTIONS’ by The Collective – Anna Chiedza Spörri. The Bern-based choreographer, together with four dancers, explores the question of how Black men are perceived in Switzerland and how this external perception affects their self-image.

From 7 to 10 May, ZÜRICH TANZT spreads out across the city and here at the Gessnerallee. We are presenting two of the four performances of “PERCEPTIONS” in collaboration with the popular dance festival, and on Saturday the fantastic ballroom competition The Fur and Lace Kiki Ball’ moves into the North Wing. ‘Dance your Pain’, a disco for bodies that (sometimes) ache, can be seen on Judith-Gessner-Platz, and on Sunday, the ‘Groove Gala – a Playful Rave for Everyone’ invites everyone – young and old, big and small – to a rave at Stall6. And at the workshop Collective Singularities’ by Alessandro Schiattarella, the motto is: away with self-criticism! Bring on playful movements! Secure individual tickets or day passes for all ZÜRICH TANZT events.

To make planning for the coming weeks easier, you’ll find a brief summary of the May programme below.
