Uncertainty is not hidden here: a format seeks out the ‘um,’ shares doubts – far removed from the eternal, annoying ‘WHAT IS STILL ALLOWED?

In this series, the aim is not to train people out of saying ‘um...’ – it is actively sought!

What does a safer space for uncertainty look like? Is that possible on stage?

Zurich artist Fatima Moumouni is finally continuing her series of discussions, ‘The New Uncertainty – Disco Edition’! In it, moments of conversation that are allowed to be thoughtful, self-critical and decidedly insecure are brought to the stage – guests and moderator are equally unsettled. And then they reflect together publicly, because when it comes to progressive discourse – almost by definition – there is still much to think about, beyond the pitiful WHAT CAN YOU EVEN SAY TODAY?

Guest in this edition: Kübra Sekin
Kübra Sekin is a presenter, actress and performer. She works from a disabled, queer and migrant perspective and campaigns for the inclusion and visibility of people with disabilities on social media, on stage and in public spaces.

As an actress, she has appeared in productions such as ‘Pauline’ (Disney+), ‘Malibu’ (ZDF), ‘Blindgänger’ (cinema) and ‘Die Anstalt’ (ZDF). She has hosted numerous cultural events, award ceremonies and specialist conferences, and contributed to the books ‘Angry Cripple’ and ‘Bist du behindert oder was?’. In 2024, she received the German Acting Award for her role in the ZDF series ‘Die Chefin’.

Comedy set and karaoke party with Edwin Ramirez

The discussion will be followed by a short comedy set by Edwin Ramirez and a karaoke party.

Edwin Ramirez (they/them or none) is an Afro-Dominican, non-binary Crip performance artist and cultural practitioner based in Zurich. They are best known as a co-founder of the queer-crip theatre project Criptonite, which, together with Nina Mühlemann, develops shows and workshops on various aspects of disability using drag, pop culture and the Aesthetics of Access. They are active in various areas of the Swiss cultural scene in an advisory and mediating capacity, for example as a board member of ArtFAQ or as a jury member of the Migros Story Lab. Accessibility, collective responsibility and care as part of artistic practice are themes they pursue with great passion.
