Welcome to the ‘Fur and Lace Kiki Ball’, a space where we celebrate the heritage, performance, and creativity of queer people of colour through a fabulous competition that spans multiple categories — from aesthetics and fashion to movement and presence. Ballroom is about chosen family, respect, legacy, and community care. It is a culture created by Black and Latinx trans and queer people, where ‘Houses’ replace systems that failed us, and competition is both art and survival.

In order to increase safety spaces for LGBTQIA+ people who are part of the Ballroom community, we ask spectators who are alien to this culture to come just to enjoy the show while community members take main stage.

Of this years edition some member of the newer generation of the ‘House of Laveaux’ are taking in the lead of creating ‘kiki spaces’ in Zurich.
