Criptonite’s second Lab focuses on storytelling, humor, and joy. Ten disabled, Deaf and/or chronically ill artists from Switzerland have been invited by Criptonite to network, present their own artistic practices and further develop them. They focus on joy, desire and pleasure and on a future in which disabled people are equal members of society. The British company Touretteshero will lead a multi-day workshop. In addition, there will be warm-ups, presentations, opportunities to share and develop one’s own artistic practice, and moments of community.

Public events as part of the lab

On Sunday 23 August, from 3 pm to 5.30 pm, a public hangout space for people with disabilities and chronic illnesses will take place in collaboration with ZAK – Zürich Access Kultur. We’ll be doing crafts, having snacks, chatting and relaxing together.

On Thursday 27 August at 6 pm to 7.30 pm, there will be a public sharing where experiences and practices from the lab will be shared publicly and the topic ‘Crip Joy and Disabled Futures’ will be discussed.

Admission is free for both events.
