Together with ZAK – Zürich Access Kultur, Criptonite is creating an open space for people with disabilities, chronic illnesses and deaf people to meet. There’ll be crafts, snacks, chats and chilling out. The hangout is taking place as part of the ‘Crip Joy & Disabled Futures’ lab.

Criptonite’s second lab focuses on storytelling, humour and joy. Ten artists from Switzerland with disabilities, who are deaf and/or chronically ill, have been invited by Criptonite to network within the lab, present their own artistic practice and develop it further. The focus is on joy, desire and pleasure, and on a future in which people with disabilities are equal members of society. The British artist collective Touretteshero will be running a workshop lasting several days. There will also be warm-ups, talks, opportunities to share and develop one’s own artistic practice, and moments of community.

Admission to the event is free.

Public sharing

On Thursday 27 August at 6 to 7.30 pm, there will be a public sharing where experiences and practices from the Lab will be shared publicly and the topic of ‘Crip Joy & Disabled Futures’ will be discussed.

Admission to the event is free.
