Dear visitors to Gessnerallee, dear artists

New at Gessnerallee: MOSAIK. On 17 October, the Gessnerallee will be collaborating with the Zurich Intercultural Programme Weeks for the first time. To kick things off, ‘Kitchen Stories’ will bring Athens and Zurich together around a shared kitchen table.

Olivia Wiederkehr and Vasiliki Sifostratoudaki have shared a passion for cooking and gardening since 2017, seeing the garden not only as a source of food but also as a living library of knowledge about healing and health. On this evening, Sifostratoudaki will be cooking with friends at the ‘Yellow Brick’ in Athens, whilst Wiederkehr prepares the same Greek recipe together with visitors at Stall6 in Zurich. At the same time, in two different places, connected through food and stories. Cooking together becomes a starting point for conversations about care, community and cultural exchange. Participation is free of charge, but registration is required. Further information and registration

MOSAIK views art and culture as a shared practice that brings people together and fosters encounters, dialogue and cultural diversity.

From 2026 to 2029, projects will be developed in various districts of Zurich in collaboration with local initiatives, cultural practitioners and residents. The focus is not only on large-scale events, but also on the small moments of everyday life together: conversations, rituals, places, memories and new connections. Zurich’s residents are invited not only to take part, but also to help shape the programme with their own ideas and projects. In this way, a city-wide mosaic will emerge from diverse stories, languages, experiences and encounters. More information about MOSAIK

Programme in early November

‘Topics of the Month: How can we prevent femicides?’ – CORRECTIV.Schweiz

4 November, 7.30 pm

Around 115 women and girls have been killed in Switzerland over the past five years by men from within their family circle. Despite preventive measures, femicides continue to occur – including those committed by perpetrators already known to the authorities. CORRECTIV.Schweiz, together with experts and the audience, asks: What does effective protection against violence look like? Tickets

‘MOUMOUNI LATE NIGHT SHOW’ – Fatima Moumouni & Guests

6 November, 8.00 pm

‘Take a look at Switzerland, too!’ The late-night show from the DIASBOAH platform is entering its third instalment – with a new look, at a new venue and, this time, with Fatima Moumouni as host. VOL. 3 explores a narrative of contemporary Switzerland that has not quite caught up with itself yet. Somewhere between gossip and political analysis, rants and high culture, resistance and entertainment. Featuring guests who have opinions and are making the world a better place. Afterwards, the party continues with MALEFI SOUNDSYSTEM. Tickets

‘KNOR – EVERY NOW AND THEN – RELEASE FEST!’ – KNOR

7 November, 9 pm

Georg Bleikolm, aka KNOR, returns to the stage with his new album ‘Every Now and Then’. Across seven tracks, Krautrock, desert rock, psychedelia and electro fuse into an energetic sound that straddles the familiar and the new, with plenty of drive heading for the dancefloor. Live, KNOR is accompanied by Daniel Treystman on drums and Laurent Meteau on guitar. Tickets

‘Batbait’ – Children’s concert

8 November, 3 pm

Distorted guitars, driving rhythms and plenty of defiance: the four musicians of Batbait develop their unmistakable sound beyond conventional rock genres. Amidst distortion, swathes of reverb and experimental rhythms, they create music that celebrates self-determination and independence – uncompromising, multi-layered and radically original. Tickets
