Around 115 women and girls have been murdered in Switzerland over the past five years by former partners, husbands or fathers. This is shown by monitoring carried out by Stop Femicide and research by CORRECTIV.Schweiz. According to NGOs, the figure reached a new high in 2025.

According to their own statements, the cantons in Switzerland are taking measures to prevent domestic violence and femicides. These include, for example, risk assessments of potential perpetrators. However, an investigation by CORRECTIV.Schweiz revealed that even men known to the authorities went on to commit such acts.

This evening, CORRECTIV.Schweiz will get to the bottom of the matter, exploring the following question: What form must effective protection against violence take?

To this end, they will be speaking with experts from the police, victim support services and the academic community. The audience will have the opportunity to ask questions. The perspectives of those affected will be incorporated into the evening through journalistic and artistic contributions.
