Kids in Dance are making the north wing of Gessnerallee their second home again for two weeks – this year with the theme of doors. We walk through them: through emotions, doors, worlds. We walk through, pause, turn back or continue on.

Doors are portals and thresholds. They separate or connect, open or close. Doors are also a powerful image of exclusion and access: who is let in, who has to stay outside? Together with choreographer Sabine Schindler and social education worker Bettina Aremu, the participating young people rehearse for two weeks in the North Wing, drawing on their own life experiences – their moments of belonging and exclusion. The result is a dance piece that opens a door for the audience into the world of the young people's experiences and invites them to engage in dialogue.
