The ‘volumes art publishing days’ is a two-day fair for zines and art books, at which local and international independent publishers, as well as self-published artists, present their publications. The focus is on an exciting selection of publishers and artists who work with small-scale production methods and present their works to a wide audience. The fair is accompanied by a programme of selected activities such as workshops, the volumes Book Club, talks, games, interactive exhibitions, performances and other exciting formats centred on the theme of art publications.

 Accessibility and practical information

  • Step-free access

  • No age restriction

  • Languages: The workshops, book clubs, and discussions at the fair tables are conducted in spoken English and/or German and are not amplified.

  • Recommended age: Sensory triggers: The event takes place in a fair setting where people move between the stands at their own pace. Except during the first hour of each day, there is no limit on the number of people in the room, so it can get crowded and cramped. The lighting is steady and does not flicker. The many publications displayed on the tables and the interactive parts of the programme can cause numerous visual and auditory stimuli.

  • Quiet Hour: On Saturday from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. and on Sunday from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m., the event will take place in a more relaxed atmosphere. The number of visitors per room will be limited. In addition, exhibitors will refrain from proactively approaching visitors during this time.

  • Workshop participation: The number of participants in the workshops is limited, and spots are filled on a first-come, first-served basis without prior registration.

  • Seating: With the exception of a few seating areas, most of the event takes place while standing. Beanbags for people with access needs are available upon request at the information desk in the Nordflügel.

  • Content Notes: The publications presented may contain sensitive content. The selection of works is at the discretion of the respective publishers. Racist, discriminatory, or otherwise inhumane content will not be accepted.
