Choreographer Tyra Wigg and their team are inviting to a work-in-process sharing of their performance «Lick Life Against the Direction of Its Fur» that premieres in Kaserne Basel September 10, 2025.

The production is a speculative dialogue between the online attention economy, the time right before it, and the biological agencies of our digestive system. We encounter three performers searching for a collective progression through temporalities, movements, and sentences from various social media feeds.

As if stuck in an algorithm-driven feedback loop, they find a certain enjoyment but solutions or relief never arrive. This stagnant activity is radically overturned by digestive organs in a visceral revolt.

Hungry eyes, curious tongues, chewing and gagging mouths, generate a bewilderment that revives what attention economies flatten. From there we ask: how can our physical core of existence empower a movement that doesn’t subscribe to an increasingly technofascist world?

After the sharing you are welcome to stay for a conversation about the work.
