Tim Zulauf/KMUProduktionen invite you to the presentation of «durch Geräusche / unter Wörtern / in Gesellschaft» and celebrate their book project with an exhibition. The three volumes, hot off the press, are published by edition fink, Zurich. They contain 16 theatre productions and installative performances from 2003 to the present day, make print props, inspirations and backgrounds accessible and compile excerpts from plays, thematically rearranged, for airy cross-reading. They convey the theatre projects sometimes with a concentrated view of text and image, sometimes with broad references to research, art and politics.

The multi-layered monograph traces working methods and research processes and critically reviews them in project descriptions and a discussion between curator Andrea Thal, actor Andreas Storm and author and director Tim Zulauf. The result is an archive of situated knowledge that aesthetically and politically links Swiss urban and transnational contexts.

The books will be presented as part of an exhibition: Five video works, created on the basis of installative performances, allow for changes of perspective between the books and the underlying locations, between the collectively honed dialogues and the political-historical research. They invite you to read the print props used in them and printed in the publication and open up a moving panorama - from Venice's Isle of the Dead to digital stock exchange trading to the care and street prostitution debate surrounding Zurich's sex boxes.

Tim Zulauf and Georg Rutishauser will be on site for an exchange.

Free entry

The book presentation will be accompanied by two events:

5 June, 6.30PM (duration approx. 45 minutes)

«Publizieren – für Öffentlichkeiten sorgen?» A conversation on the politics of publishing and the publication «durch Geräusche / unter Wörtern / in Gesellschaft» by KMUProduktionen and edition fink

On the opening evening on 5 June at 6.30PM, Georg Rutishauser, Tim Zulauf and Lisa Letnansky (dramaturge Tanzhaus, cantonal councillor AL) will discuss connections between art and books and explore changes between mediation and politics.

8 June, 4 pm (duration approx. 90 minutes)

«Kunstumwelten –Gegenerzählungen zur Gesellschaft» A dialogue on art, public experiment

Sabian Baumann (artist), Yves Netzhammer (artist), Christoph Rath (author, director and actor) and Tim Zulauf will meet for a discussion on Sunday, 8 June at 5.30 pm. The cultural practitioners - active in the KMU productions network, associated with it or closely accompanying it - will discuss how their artistic approach feeds on contemporary issues and evokes social resonances through inscriptions or counter-worlds.
