Let's go! That's life! The Old Masters collective has created a play for young audiences called ‘Home of my Spirit’ (Das Haus meines Geistes), which tells the story of Kim, Klöb, and Mauro. The three friends are a clique whose specialty is using objects in ways you wouldn't expect. That's their thing. Then they get a visit from Jonathan, Klöb's cousin. Jonathan finds all the arrangements they make truly amazing. And he himself thinks that everything he does is worthless. ‘Come on Jonathan, go ahead... do your thing!’

With the help of a panopticon of images, objects, and visions, Old Masters offers children a home for their minds with their play: a refuge and a space of support for their personal ideas, their creativity, and their ability to invent their own world.

    The play is called Das Haus meines Geistes (Home of My Spirit).

    It tells the story of Kim, Klöb and Mauro.

    The three friends use things in strange ways.

    Jonathan comes to visit.

    He is Klöb's cousin.

    He likes the friends' ideas.

    But he thinks his own ideas are no good.

    The friends say to him: Do your own thing!

    The play shows a house for ideas.

    In the house, you can imagine your own world.

  • Marius Schaffter (performer and geographer), Jérôme Stünzi (set designer and artist), and Sarah André (author, artist, and set designer) together form the Old Masters collective. Since 2014, they have been working together on topics large and small, banal and relevant discourses, and using them to create their works. They create their stage plays collectively and see them as total works of art. With the help of their favorite tools—absurdity, sincerity, benevolence, irony, beauty, sadness, and gentleness—Old Masters works to find answers to the question of what freedom could be today: a freedom that is localized, changeable, and always in search of itself.
