Dear visitors to Gessnerallee, dear artists

After a wonderfully packed ZÜRICH-TANZT weekend, we’re taking a breather this week and crossing the bridge: things are quiet at the Gessnerallee these days; there’s no programme running, but plenty of rehearsals are taking place. Because from next week onwards, we’ll be heading full steam ahead towards summer – with a few premieres, lots of events, talks, parties and moments we’re looking forward to.

For example, anyone who experienced the last edition of “Die Neue Unsicherheit – Disco Edition” and is already keen for more should mark 23 May in their calendar: Fatima Moumouni is once again hosting the talk series, this time with presenter, actress and performer Kübra Sekin as her guest. Sekin works from a disabled, queer and migrant perspective and advocates for the participation and visibility of people with disabilities on social media, on stage and in public spaces.

Together, Moumouni and Sekin venture into the uncertain terrain of love and ponder questions such as: Does true love exist? What does the concept of romantic love entail – and for whom? What does it mean, as an activist, to have to negotiate one’s own romantic relationship in public? And how does love function in the face of social norms – particularly between people with different social positions?

And because the mix worked so well last time, there’ll be another short comedy set – this time featuring crip performance artist Edwin Ramirez – as well as karaoke to sing along to, empathise with or dance along to. Get your tickets now!

Last but not least, a quick reminder: How do you experience the Gessnerallee today – and how should it develop in the future? Take part in our audience survey by 22 May 2026, receive an event voucher as a thank you, and feel free to share the survey: Gessnerallee audience survey
