In OPEN STUDIO, artists from various disciplines collaborate with sound artist, director and stage designer Dimitri de Perrot to explore productions that use sound as a central creative element. They develop ideas, perspectives and artistic approaches: How can sound be used to think, create and tell stories?
In their OPEN STUDIO, director, author and dramaturge Anna Papst and multidisciplinary artist Vincent Glanzmann work on Papst's new text ‘Toi (fel), Toi (fel), Toi (fel)’. Two people who have been friends for many years meet here. A wound gapes between them. Amrei, their former fellow student, is dead. She died of an addiction that hardly anyone knew about, lonely in the city where all three of them lived. Their attempt to talk about pain and guilt leads them from one pub to the next and, after curfew, from the riverbank to the motorway bridge.
Using the sound recording and playback technology borrowed from Dimitri de Perrot's project ‘Niemandsland’ (No Man's Land), Papst and Glanzmann take the audience on an acoustic tour through neighbourhoods and emotional states. Text and sound create a permeable scene between inner life and the outside world, allowing listeners to be directly present as the two bereaved stagger between tender memories and bitter remorse, between farewell and incomprehension.
The premiere will take place on 26 February, followed by a snack and drink reception.
Please note: The title and content of the event have changed. The event was previously called ‘Unerhört, ungestört’ (Unheard, undisturbed).
