Season Start
«Open day for everyone, young and old»
A voyage of discovery through the Gessnerallee with guided tours, talks, pinball games, eating cake and a sewing and printing workshop. For people of all ages, and especially for everyone who has never been here before, but has always wanted to know what is hidden behind the long orange building.
Sat 09/28 3:00 – 7:30 PM
Deutsch, Englisch
On the second day of the start of the 2024/25 season, we invite everyone in the Gessnerallee to get to know it as a whole (and much more): the building with all its spaces, people from the team as well as artists working at the theatre. All this with an exciting yet relaxed programme:
Manufacture
In the ‘Manufacture’, you can make your own personal Gessnerallee garment or accessory at the sewing machine, the button machine and ironing board, or design washable tattoos. The motto: bring along used bags, T-shirts, trousers, silk shirts and tablecloths and decorate them with glittering, colourful logos and lettering.
House tour
Are you wondering which animals live in the Gessnerallee and what the history of the theatre and its architectural features are? There is plenty to discover on guided tours created by the team behind and in front of the scenes. In the Stall6 Bar a new pinball machine is waiting to be played.
Eat and chat
At the snack bar, hungry people can try crisps and choose the snack of the season. And if crisps are too salty for you, you can chat with Gessnerallee team members about their work and get programme recommendations over coffee, tea and cake.
Dance and concert
So that everyone, young and old, can enjoy a show together, ‘Down (full album)’ by Mélissa Guex will be performed at 5.00 pm.
Sounds will be provided from 17.00 to 19.30 by baby vouithu.
baby vouithu is interested in challenging the traditional boundaries of electronic music by fusing diverse influences. Playing breakbeats, footwork, rap, g-funk and electro for the season start of Gessnerallee.
Target audience
The afternoon is ideal for families and friends with and without children, from very young to very old people. For fans, sceptics and professionals. And especially for people who have never been here before but have always wanted to know what is hidden behind the long orange building.
The detailed programme will be published on-site. There will be food and drink for all tastes.
Just drop by. We look forward to your visit.
Free admission
Accessability
‘Down (full album)’ by Mélissa Guex features loud percussion music. Hearing protection headphones for children and earplugs for adults, as well as further information on the content and accessibility of the performance, will be available at the Access Info Point in the Stall6 Bar. ‘Down (full album)’ was not explicitly developed for a young audience, but its setting makes it comparable to a concert. Children are very welcome.
The Stall6 Bar is equipped with various seating options such as sofas, armchairs, beanbags and chairs. Wheelchair users are taken into consideration when setting up tables and craft stations.
As the afternoon is currently under construction, information on accessibility will be updated regularly.
