An explosive combination of a dancing body and live drums as an offering to overcome what feels like a hopeless world. An intoxicating pull down into the abyss - and then upwards into euphoria. From Lausanne, visiting Zurich.
Who doesn't know it: the moment after ecstasy. The come-down. That wave of depression, the feeling of letting go of the body, letting go of the mind. “DOWN (Full album)” celebrates this state - as a choreographic work for a drum kit and a dancing body.
A performative and explosive concert as a reaction to our general depression. In the middle of the crowd, Mélissa Guex dances a rousing duet with percussionist Clément Grin to unreasonable rhythms. A pull down into the abyss - and then upwards into euphoria.
Access means
The work takes place as a Relaxed Performance ohne Lautsprache. For audience members with access needs, who wish to receive more information about the space, sound and lights, we offer an access tour 30 minutes before the show. Additionally, we offer an early boarding approx. 10
minutes before the start of the performance. The sound level of the performance moves between loud and very loud. There is no clear separation between the stage and the audience. The audience can move freely through the room, sit on platforms, the floor or (previously
reserved) beanbags. Strobe light will be used during the last scene of the performance. At this point in time, (almost) all the audience will already have left the room and follows the scene without a view of the action only on the sound level. We recommend that people for whom strobe
light is a barrier to definitely leave the space. Detailed information on the accessibility of the performance will be available at the Access Infopoint located in Stall6.
The performance on September 28, 2024 is also open to children as part of the Family Afternoon. Hearing protection headphones (limited number) can be borrowed at the Access Infopoint or at the entrance of Nordflügel.
