Sami Lea Samira Bernath removes the accompanying instrument ‘Löffelä’ from its traditional context and re-explores it from a queer perspective. Copyright: Thalles Piaget

‘spooning&entre.les.montagnes’ is a piece about forgetting, suppression and the possibilities of remembering. Sami Lea Samira Bernath takes the ‘Löffelä’ (spoon) – a percussive accompanying instrument in traditional Swiss music today – out of its context and embarks on a search for permeability and openness from a queer perspective. In an attempt to deconstruct Swiss traditions, they explore ways in which intergenerational knowledge can nourish society and reinterpretation can break through exclusivity. In a minimal setting, a play of traces, vibrations and dissonances permeates bodies and space to create a rhythm for as many people as possible in the interplay between performer and ‘Löffelä’.

Doppelvorstellung

‘spooning & entre les montagnes’ will be shown immediately after the Pop-Up Mountain Company's showing of ‘SCHÄLLEWIIBER’.
