A cultural hybrid in tune with the times, with two hearts beating in unison. This popular children’s concert series showcases exciting musicians and bands for young and old alike.

The B stands for Butterfly. As a child, she was often teased because her two front teeth were shaped like a butterfly. Now Nicky B Fly is making waves on the Swiss music scene. Copyright: Nicky B Fly

With roots in the Congolese port city of Kinshasa and her home city of Zurich, the artist and single mother of a son, Nicky B Fly, sees herself as a cultural hybrid in tune with the spirit of the times, with two hearts beating in unison within her. She blends Swiss German, French, English and Lingala in her song lyrics, creating a unique musical style that she brings to life in live performances with her band and dancers.

The children's concert series at Stall6 invites children aged 3 to 12 and their old and young friends to experience music up close and personal. On selected Sunday afternoons during the cooler months, Swiss bands bring their latest songs to the stage - no classic children's songs, no Punch and Judy shows, but plenty to amaze, sing along to and empathize with. The children's concerts at Stall6 make a wide variety of musical styles accessible to a young audience - in a relaxed, informal atmosphere.

The children's concert series is organised by Nadja Furrer, Zugabe GmbH, in cooperation with Gessnerallee. www.ohrenauf.ch
