During two nights, the Backslash Festival invites visitors to discover a carefully curated selection of artistic interventions. The program consists of electronic club and experimental music live acts, as well as a series of performance art and DJ sets. More than 30 artists from the international, national and local scene will take over the entire Gessnerallee complex with four different stages over the weekend.

The festival is organised by the non-profit association Tokyo Data Collective in collaboration with Gessnerallee. The collective focuses on the development of projects that create transdisciplinary symmetries between performing arts, club culture and visual arts.

The entire festival has been designed so that all areas are accessible for people with limited mobility.

Access means

The entire festival has been designed so that all areas are accessible for people with mobility impairments.
Earplugs are available at the ticket office.
There are various seating options in Stall6.
The event ‘Hypagogia Hyperspace’ in Stall6 is a ‘long duration performance’. It is possible to enter and leave at any time.

Sensory stimuli

Parties

Sound: The sound is up to 100 db. Intense noticeable basses.
Light: After midnight: strobe and strobe-like effects.
Other: Haze is used in Halle Ost.

«Kopanima» Xenia Koghilaki:

Light: Strobe effects are used, there are rapid changes between bright and dark light.
Sound: Intense, repetitive sounds are played over longer periods of time, the music is loud, live electric guitar is played.
Atmosphere: The atmosphere of the piece is intense, in places it is very dark and at the same time very loud.
Other effects: Stage fog is used.
