  • Sat 11/04 22:00 – 23:00

    Nordflügel

After an intermission, Anouchka Gwen returns to their roots: solo, with only her voice and bass, raw and vulnerable. Copyright: Kërå Pathmanathan

The vulnerability, complexity, and emotions that accompany life are Anouchka Gwen’s most important sources of inspiration. With their dreamy, bass-heavy voice, Anouchka seeks to express their deepest and most honest thoughts and take up space in an unapologetic way. As an artist with Congolese roots, they are influenced and inspired by repetitive, soulful, and rhythmic melodies. They combine these with their love of electronic, psychedelic, expansive pop soundscapes.

After a necessary break from the stage as a front person, Anouchka Gwen decides to return to their roots, performing solo on stage and expressing their deepest thoughts in a vulnerable way with only their voice and bass. The solo concert as part of the programme focus Communities of Hope is an opportunity to accompany Anouchka Gwen on this new artistic journey.

Note: The solo concert by Anouchka Gwen will take place after the reading with Mani Ozwar and Anouchka Gwen at Nordflügel. All visitors of the reading are invited to stay. The tickets for the reading are valid for the concert. It is also possible to buy a separate ticket for the concert.
