Data leaks with political implications

Premiere of the annual project by LAB Junges Theater Zürich and the monthly discussion series ‘Monthly Topics’ on a data leak at the Israeli Ministry of Justice. Weekly letter #83

Team Gessnerallee, 27 May 2026

Dear visitors to Gessnerallee, dear artists

With the songs from ‘Hate it or Love it Love Karaoke’ still on repeat in our ears, and the nuances of the intense, uncertain conversation between Fatima Moumouni and Kübra Sekin at ‘Neue Unsicherheit – Love Edition’ still fresh in our minds, we are looking forward to tomorrow’s premiere of ‘Uniform’ by LAB Junges Theater Zürich (28 May to 2 June).

In the annual project by LAB Junges Theater Zürich, the performers have shared stories of their favourite plays, written texts on how others see them, squeezed themselves into a pair of trousers together and adopted the perspective of an undershirt. The result is a personal, spirited, sometimes funny and sometimes sad show about the uniforms of our everyday lives – with a potentially hopeful ending in the shadow of mountains of clothes. There are still a few tickets left. Book your seat now!

Afterwards, we look forward to another in-depth exploration of a controversial topic in our popular ‘Monthly Topics’ series, in which we collaborate with editorial teams.

Under the title ‘Data leaks with political explosive power and cross-border journalism’ , WOZ – Die Wochenzeitung will provide insights on 3 June into its investigation, which began with a massive data leak at the Israeli Ministry of Justice. Yossi Bartal, a journalist originally from Israel who lives in Berlin, has delved deep into the matter and brought a major story to light: for years, the Israeli Ministry of Justice has been pursuing a targeted strategy to protect its own (former) government officials from prosecution abroad. In this context, the term lawfare is used – the use of the law as a weapon.

Together with the ‘European Investigative Collaborations’ (EIC) network, Bartal then set in motion the Europe-wide dissemination of the #IsraelFiles – and brought the Swiss publication WOZ – ‘Die Wochenzeitung’ on board for the Swiss context. Tickets
