The idea of education as self-empowerment has much in common with concepts of socially engaged art. But how can art and education work together to create learning spaces that people can shape themselves – beyond control and discipline?

Lera Lerner, a plant geneticist who earned her doctorate in St. Petersburg and experiments with ‘chance, wonder, intuition and love’ as ways of spontaneous communication in public spaces in her performances and installations, will be present on site. Fairooz Tamimi, author, cultural manager and managing director of Action For Hope, will join online. Action For Hope initiates cultural projects that address the social, cultural and psychological needs of distressed and displaced communities in the MENA region (Middle East and North Africa) and in Europe.

Spontaneous participation on site is possible at any time. Participation via Zoom is also possible with prior registration via this link.
