A humorous film about love and transformation - sensitively and masterfully told through the magical story of a wooden puppet.

Rosana Cade and Ivor Mac Askill have been creating «The Making of Pinocchio» since 2018 in response to Ivor’s gender transition. In this digital edition of the work, they masterfully combine their own experiences with the fairytale-like story of the wooden puppet who wants to be a «real boy». And ask themselves the question: What does it take to tell your own story?

In their production, this Scotland-based artist duo invites you to take a look behind the scenes. The audience explores the creation process and at the same time the relationship between the two artists. The video work moves between fantasy and authenticity, humor and intimacy, stage and screen.
