Rosana Cade and Ivor MacAskill began developing «The Making of Pinocchio» in 2018 in response to Ivor MacAskill's own gender transition. They masterfully combine their own experiences with the fairytale-like story of the wooden puppet who wants to be a «real boy». And ask themselves the question: What does it take to tell your own story?

In their production, this Scotland-based artist duo invites you to take a look behind the scenes. The audience explores the creation process and at the same time the relationship between the two artists. The evening moves between fantasy and authenticity, humor and intimacy and can be seen both on stage and on screen at the same time.

The work takes place as a relaxed performance. For the performances, there will be a live audio description in English for blind and visually impaired viewers, preceded by a tactile tour. In each case at 6 pm. For audiences with access needs, there is pre-admission (link?) approx. 10 minutes before the start of the performance. Information on sensory stimuli: There are no strobe lights, flashing lights, moments of complete darkness or fog.
