LA Timpa

LA Timpa's album «Ornary, Pt.2», released in May 2024, sounds like a diary of sounds and words. It tells of reconciliation, destruction and reconstruction, of being an outsider and retribution. La Timpa's poetic words resound amidst a dense, impressive jumble of sounds. His diverse themes serving as pillars for the cultivation of a great inner peace.

LA Timpa is an artist, musician, producer, singer and songwriter currently based in London. Born in Nigeria, he emigrated to Canada in 2001 where he spent his formative years as a DJ, rapper and songwriter. He has released music for labels such as o___O?, Halcyon Veil and Slow Release. Most recently, his album «Time of Marcker» was released on the Vulgarteen label. LA Timpa has produced and scored music for fashion labels such as Y-3, Burberry and Marine Serre, collaborated with musicians such as Space Afrika, Tricky and Lol K and artists Klein and Kathryn Tompkins on video and animation. Timpa's DJ roots are evident in his mix contributions to NTS, Rinse FM and The Lot. 

WAT TAKLAEW

Drawing inspiration from Thai heritage, the artist's name holds significance as ‘wat’ translates as 'temple‘, symbolizing a spiritual connection to the craft. Additionally, ’thaklaew' derives from a Thai boys name, associated with the concept of militancy.

WAT TAKLAEW's debut album «Pillars of the Apex», released on the Zurich-based label Webarchive, takes the listener on a journey of introspection and ethereal exploration. Each track unfolds like a chapter in a story and invites you to explore the depths of your own imagination and immerse yourself in realms of mystical beings.
