What can art achieve in regions affected by war? How do artists work to preserve human dignity, create new opportunities for encounters and promote peaceful conflict resolution? The Swiss foundation artasfoundation has been initiating and organizing art projects in conflict regions since 2012. In doing so, it is repeatedly confronted with fundamental questions. These questions will be put up for discussion in the discussion series «Art in Conflict».

Each event takes the form of a table discussion with a specific topic. The initial impetus for the exchange is provided by invited experts who work with art initiatives of various disciplines in conflict regions or have published on the subject. This will take the form of either a short presentation or a text that is sent out in advance. Interested visitors are welcome to listen to the discussions or to join in.
