Two eggs in an Antarctic snowstorm. A penguin hatches from one and another bird from the other. Together they experience many adventures. They are everything they have and everything they know to each other. The little bird adopts the penguin as its mother and learns everything it knows from him. That's not so much! He has no wings to fly and can only waddle ...

The deaf actress Pia Katharina Jendreizik and the hearing puppeteer Andreas Pfaffenberger tell this story about differences in friendship and family without a spoken word.

About the artists

Leute wie die are artists from Berlin and NRW who have come together to form a performance group. They create theatre experiences in which spoken and sign language are used on an equal footing.

Since 2015, Leute wie die have been working in both languages on the question of how deaf and hearing performers can act on stage on an equal footing, how the audience can participate and what aesthetic and artistic images emerge from this.
