«FOREVER TOUCHING – ein generationenübergreifendes Austauschprogramm zu queerem Älterwerden»
DIVAS

Workshop

What does it mean to grow older when we are not moving along a heteronormative timeline? The DIVAS workshop invites you to explore this question by sharing, listening and touching.

  • Sat 31/05 14:00 – 17:00

    Südbühne

DIVAS is a network of queer artists in Zurich who work in the fields of dance, performance and community work. The project «FOREVER TOUCHING» deals with local queer history, realities and resistant strategies. We understand queer as, among other things, the reality of people who do not want to categorise themselves in a heteronormative society.

We feel the desire and the need to learn from and with people who were there before us, to exchange ideas - and above all to come together. The question of connection and physical experience is central to DIVAS.

During the workshop, DIVAS will share their practice and approach to (non-sexual) touch and listening as an important resource for regeneration and togetherness in an individualistic capitalist society. In a playful way, ideas are presented on how to stay in touch with oneself and others to foster a community-orientated culture that spans generations. Touch is always optional. The workshop will be designed so that all participants can participate according to their abilities and interests.

About the artists

  • DIVAS is a network of queer artists in a constant state of flux who scrutinise artistic, social and political areas and want to change them from an embodied, inclusive perspective. DIVAS are partners of Gessnerallee as part of the 2024 and 2026 concept funding programme. DIVAS work in the field of dance, performance and community work. They deal with the question of how they can take a process-orientated approach to create visionary, hopeful fictions and learning spaces that are rooted in queer realities.

The next production Glistening (Remembering the Unknown) will premiere at Gessnerallee in January 2026.
