Covid-safe event

Programme focus ‘Communities of Hope’

To ensure that people with disabilities and chronic illnesses or care responsibilities, for whom infection with Covid or other diseases poses a high risk, can feel welcome at Gessnerallee, we organise specific events or programme focuses as Covid-safe events.

The programme focus ‘Communities of Hope’ from 9 to 18 April 2026 will take place as a Covid-Safer event. This means:

Testing and FFP2 masks are mandatory

  • Tests can be taken at the entrance to Stall6 (time until test result: 15 minutes). Both tests and masks will be provided by Gessnerallee.

  • Places where food and drink are consumed, such as the Stall6 bar, are exempt from the mask requirement. Entry to the bar is only possible after a negative test result.

  • Persons who are unable to wear a mask for reasons of accessibility (e.g. breathing problems due to chronic illnesses, communication in German-Swiss sign language) may be exempted from the mask requirement if they have a negative test result and are symptom-free, after consultation with the Gessnerallee evening staff.

  • Why both testing and masks are mandatory: A negative test usually provides a certain degree of certainty, but does not rule out Covid infection or other illnesses. Wearing a mask significantly reduces the risk of infection.

No symptoms

  • If you have unclear cold or flu symptoms or have been in close contact with sick people, we ask that you stay at home. Tickets that have already been purchased can be returned by email to kasse@gessnerallee.ch up to 7 days after the event.

Lounge areas, quiet room, Covid testing station

  • The Covid testing station is located in front of Stall6.

  • Drinks and snacks can be consumed in Stall6, the theatre foyer and bar. Therefore, masks are not required in this area.

  • In addition to seating in Stall6, bistro tables are provided in the outdoor area. There is also a quiet area (south stage) where testing and masks are also required.
