36Birds is a swiss-congolese Singer/Songwriter, originating from a family of musicians and dancers. 36Birds consequentally spent a big part of his childhood at concerts and dance studios. It was only natural for him to follow the same path. Influenced by Hip-Hop and R'n'B-culture, he began writing and recording his own songs at the age of fifteen, but felt that as a homosexual brown man, it wouldn’t be easy for him to fit into this machoistic, hypermasculine environment.
He fell in love with the Techno-Scene, and shortly after met his current Production Team, Melvyn Buss and Arci Friede, also known for their collectives Monumental Men and Sirens of Lesbos. 36Birds started to combine r’n’b with techno- and rave-elements, shaping his very own sound, what he calls rave’n’b or darkroom-pop. In his songs he tells stories about race, religion and sexuality. He hopes people will be able to identify with his lyrics and somehow find coping-system in his music.
The concert will be followed by a club night.
